Yordenis Ugas thinks the fans should take it easy on Errol Spence Jr
In his next fight, WBA “super” welterweight champion Yordenis “54 Milagros” Ugas (27-4, 12 KO’s) will go toe-to-toe with IBF and WBC welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr (27-0, 21 KO’s). Ahead of this significant duel however, rather than antagonize Spence, Ugas finds himself defending the Truth. It’s far from a secret that the boxing world has been craving a dustup between Spence and WBO 147-pound champion Terence “Bud” Crawford. This has remained the case ever since Bud dispatched Jeff Horn in 2018.
Displeased with the greater majority of his opposition at welterweight since then, the fans openly snub most any foe who is not Spence. This is where Ugas believes that the fans are overstepping their bounds a bit. Naturally, 54 Milagros was quick to defend himself as a legitimate adversary. Going a step further, the Cuban talent suggested that there were still bigger fights on the horizon to remain excited about.
WHAT THINGS MAY COME?
Despite the majority of the year being quiet, 2021 has been a sensational year for 54 Milagros. In his only professional contest of the year, Ugas took on and defeated boxing treasure Manny Pacquiao. Obviously, this was his best career win to date. Then it appeared that Ugas was going to have to tangle with Eimantas Stanionis per a WBA mandate. Luckily that course of action was switched over to the much more pressing unification match between Ugas and Spence. Now let’s see what the Cuban can do with the grand opportunity that he has been presented with.
