Yokasta Valle Looking to Mentally Break Seniesa Estrada

The days are closing in on the March 29 showdown to determine the undisputed women’s minimumweight champion between unified champions Yokasta “Yoka” Valle (30-2, 9 KOs) and Seniesa “Super Bad” Estrada (25-0, 9 KOs). Valle is confident of victory, feeling Estrada cannot deal with what she has in store.

A two-division unified champion, Valle has established herself as one of the best fighters in women’s boxing. But the ultimate goal for the 31-year-old has always been to win all the belts at 105. The final hurdle to achieving that accomplishment comes in defeating Estrada.

AN ALL-BUSINESS MINDSET

There’s been plenty of heated words shared between the two. But during a face-off interview with the two champions for Top Rank Boxing, Yoka explained that it’s not personal, from her end; It’s all about becoming undisputed.

(Translated from Spanish) “I’m not looking for money. I’m looking for the belts. You know, when it comes to Seniesa, I want the belts, and it’s nothing special. That’s what I’m looking for. Nothing more.”

Valle has been as cool as a cucumber during pre-fight festivities. Estrada is fiery and intense, but she is also a good fighter. 3kingsboxing.com’s Women’s Fighter of the Year for 2022, Super Bad is a two-division world champion and is ranked as one of the elite fighters in the sport.

READY TO FIGHT

Valle respects Estrada. But the resident of Costa Rico also sees mental weakness in Super Bad and says that her rival is in for the surprise of her lifetime.

“I’m in her backyard. I won’t leave any doubt for the judges . . . she’s afraid. I know that she’s afraid to lose.”

“I respect you as a world champion. But I have what’s mine . . . When we’re in the ring, you’re going to ask yourself, ‘who is this? Who am I fighting,’ because it’s nothing you have seen before. I’m gonna take those belts.”

On paper, Estrada versus Valle shapes up to be one of the best fights of the year. What fans will witness are two fighters at their peak. A big key to this fight is who handles the pressure. Valle believes she has won the game of psychological warfare, and it will show in the ring and result in her becoming the queen of the minimumweight division.
