Could Vanes Be Next?
Vanes Martiroysan has been pleading for a fight with Gennady Golovkin and regardless of his inactivity he was approved yesterday by the CSAC (California State Athletic Commission) to be a potential opponent for a May 5th showdown.
Two years removed from coming off of a loss and only three weeks to prepare for a fighter of Golovkin’s caliber doesn’t sound like a recipe for success. However you have to applaud his willingness to get in the ring with one of the best P4P fighters in the sport today.
Another fighter that has been in the running for the Golovkin sweepstakes includes the current IBF #1 contender Sergiy Derevyanchenko, who has been heavily in the media recently pushing to be the opponent on May 5th. Will the IBF mandate this fight instead?
More information coming soon on this topic.
