Joshua vs. Wilder: A Blockbuster Boxing Needs

The Fight Boxing Needs

Will this fight get done sooner rather than later?

With the mega fight between Gennady Golovkin and Saul “Canelo” Alvarez cancelled, boxing is in need of a summer blockbuster.

The heavyweight division is by far the engine that drives the sport. Therefore, a heavyweight showdown with all the titles on the line could be precisely what boxing needs.

Anthony Joshua vs. Deontay Wilder can get everyone involved from the most casual fan to the hardcore. People love the big guys and they love them even more in big fights.

Joshua has a massive amount of supporters in the United Kingdom. Wilder, who is arguably the hardest puncher in the division, hasn’t amounted even close to the popularity Joshua possesses.

Now don’t get me wrong, the sport had a great 2017 and 2018 is heading in the right direction. However, with everything that has happened with the Alvarez “situation,” the sport could use a jolt among the casual fans. What would be better than two hard hitting heavyweights with all the belts on the line?

I’m hoping this fight gets done sooner rather than later with all the PED and suspension talks. The sport can use a big announcement; one that can make a big splash.

Whether it’s in London or Vegas, people will flock to this fight. Marination is not needed! The time is right and it should be now!

Folks in the United Kingdom want it, people in America want it, lets make it happen! With all the talk of tainted meat this fight is exactly what boxing needs.
