WBC title to be added to Dorticos v Briedis
Mauricio Suliman has announced that the vacant WBC cruiserweight world title will be up for grabs in the WBSS final between Mairis Briedis and Yunier Dorticos. This raises the stakes considerably, as now this bout will be for three titles. Briedis’ WBO title and Dorticos’ IBF straps were already in play for unification.
This fight should be an action-packed affair. Dorticos recently delivered a spectacular knockout of Andrew Tabiti. Briedis, on the other hand, is coming off a third round stoppage of Kryzsztof Golwacki. This is great for both the fighters and the fans as the cruiserweight division is still exciting, even after the absence of undisputed champion Oleksandr Usyk. Usyk has taken his talents to the heavyweight division.
We still await final confirmation on the final match’s date and venue. We at 3kingsboxing.com will keep you posted as more information becomes available.
