Amir Khan vs Neeraj Goyat off due to car wreck
The July 12 bout between Amir Khan and Neeraj Goyat is off due to injuries the latter suffered in a car accident. Right now, there’s a scramble to find a replacement opponent for Khan and keep the event alive. With Khan coming off of a one-sided stoppage via WBO champion Terence Crawford, his handlers will have to be cautious in how he’s matched up.
As for Goyat, his promotional team has issued a statement.
“We are very sad to inform that Neeraj Goyat, who was preparing for his mega fight against Amir Khan, met with a car accident last night that has caused him severe injuries on his head, face and left arm. He is currently in hospital and we wish him a speedy recovery.” ~ Bill Dosanjh, Promoter for Super Boxing League
