Usyk vs Gassiev likely to be in July


The WBSS Cruiserweight Tournament has been filled with a lot good matchups and excitement. The final has been highly anticipated. It was set back some due to an injury to Oleksandr Usyk.

We finally have some clarity on when Usyk will meet Murat Gassiev to determine the tournament winner. The battle will also determine an undisputed champion in the division. The bout will either be July 21 or 28 likely be in Russia.

Gassiev defeated Yunier Dorticos by TKO in twelve round earlier this year. It was an astounding bout where he showed a lot of patience. Stuck to his game plan and it really played dividends in the second half of the bout.

Usyk defeated Mairis Breidis by majority decision in a highly contested affair. It was a back and forth battle, Usyk isn’t the type to come to knock you out and is very methodical in his approach. He won the bout by simply being the better boxer and let his skills carry him across the finish line.

This bout is really gonna be a treat to watch, both guys can really bring it. This is gonna be an affair contested at a very high level. It’s definitely gonna be a battle of adjustments and whoever can make them quicker will more likely come out on top.
