Deontay Wilder feels Tyson Fury is done!
The performance from former unified heavyweight champion Tyson Fury against the unknown Otto Wallin garnered mixed reviews.
One key observer who wasn’t impressed was his rival and WBC champion Deontay Wilder.
As you all know the two men are scheduled to meet in a rematch in February, but after the nasty cut suffered over his right eye, that February date appears to be up in the air.
In an interview with Barbershop Conversations, Wilder expressed his thoughts on the performance.
“Anyone that saw this fight will understand he’s not the same fighter. But this is what I do to them; I end careers!
“He’s not the same fighter at all, I took something. He’s done and I can’t wait.”
From Wilder’s perspective their grueling fight back in December took a lot from the former unified champion. In that December encounter Wilder dropped Fury twice once in the fifth round and again in the twelfth. The latter knockdown appeared to be the most damaging of the knockdowns as it took everything for Fury to rise from the canvas.
With the sense of vulnerability from Fury as the rematch looms with, there’s no doubt that Wilder will be licking his chops to finish what he started in the twelfth round of their first fight last December.
