Deontay Wilder: “Let’s Go Ruiz, Knock Him Out Again!”
Fight week is officially underway for Deontay Wilder vs Luis Ortiz 2. Although, that isn’t the only marquee heavyweight fight that is on the minds of fight fans around the world.
Another rematch is set to take place two weeks after, which arguably has more intrigue than the heavyweight tussle taking place stateside.
That would be Andy Ruiz Jr vs Anthony Joshua 2 taking place December 7 in Saudi Arabia.
Back on June 1 Ruiz shocked the world when he scored arguably the biggest upset of 2019. The “Destroyer” dethroned Joshua in devastating fashion via a seventh round technical knockout to become the unified heavyweight champion.
That result put an immediate hold on a potential undisputed clash between Joshua and Wilder the world had so badly craved. At this point, there’s a lot of people rooting for Ruiz to continue his underdog story.
Include the WBC champion among that group of people.
He told Fight Hub Tv the following regarding Ruiz-Joshua 2:
“That’s going to be another great fight as well. Of course, we’re under the same stable. I’m definitely rooting for him to do what he set out to do and did the first time.
“He’s coming back and finish the job, for me that’s what I see.
He’s got all the momentum going for him. It’s the way he beat Joshua. People are not understanding Ruiz is a good fighter, but it was the way he beat Joshua. That’s what makes me go for him.”
He finished the interview with an amped up “Let’s go Ruiz! Knock him out again baby!”
While there may be many fans who still want to see Wilder and Joshua lock horns, it’s clear the WBC champion would like to see Ruiz repeat his shocking performance.
We shall see the outcomes to all these fights come November 23 and December 7! May the best men win!
