Jared Anderson Hoping to Return to Form Against Marios Kollias
In his next feat of strength, heavyweight boxer Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (17-1, 15 KO’s) will face Marios Kollias (12-3-1, 10 KO’s). The Greek import will represent Anderson’s first challenge since losing in brutal fashion to Congolese wrecking ball Martin Bakole. Naturally, a healthy amount of spectators will want to see how Anderson handles himself.
Will he show up to the ring gun shy? Will his punch resistance be notably diminished? Or, will Anderson return as a more seasoned and disciplined fighter? These are all fair questions and plausible conclusions. In fact, their very validity seemingly explains the selection of Kollias, who will compete professionally in the US for the first time against Anderson.
JELLY OR GELLED?
Realistically speaking, The Real Big Baby soaked up a certified thumping in his last fight. Following such a scraping, history has recorded countless pugilists resuming their career as lesser specimens. On the flipside however, fighters such as Erickson Lubin, Badou Jack, Sebastian Fundora, Caleb Plant, Joseph Parker and Derek Chisora have lost by unceremonious knockout.
Yet, despite their defeats, each fighter came roaring back to straighten out their careers. Some became champions and others are in position to become champions. So, come February 14, Anderson will be afforded his first opportunity to show the world if his adversity has left him broken or better.
