Turki Alalshikh Pursuing Jared Anderson vs Deontay Wilder

With the obvious in-ring talent, coupled with his slick mouth, many in the boxing community have cried for rising heavyweight Jared “The Real Big Baby” Anderson (17-0, 15 KO’s) to step up his level of competition. Luckily, they could get their wish as negotiations are underway for a possible summer showdown with former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (43-3-1, 42 KO’s).

Unsurprisingly, Saudi Arabia’s godfather of boxing, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh is using his considerable wealth in an attempt to broker this duel. The Chairman revealed, via his social media, that he has already met with and confirmed that Anderson wants to chuck knuckles with Wilder.

If all goes as planned, Alalshikh would pit The Bronze Bomber against The Real Big Baby on the undercard of Israil Madrimov versus Terence Crawford. The match would take place on August 3, under the hot light of the BMO Stadium located in Los Angeles. Naturally, Anderson versus Wilder would be contingent on Wilder winning his upcoming contest against Zhilei Zhang on June 1 in Saudi Arabia.

PULL UP OR WIPE OUT?

Without a doubt, both gladiators would have something to prove come fight night. To begin, Anderson’s recent April 13 unanimous decision victory over Ryad Merhy was lackluster at best. To cast more seeds of doubt, The Real Big Baby would go on to make more negatively charged sensational news for alleged illegalities outside the ring. As a result, there’s been speculation that the 24-year-old is unfocused and wasting his talent.

Wilder has his own set of issues. He’s coming off a toothless decision loss to former WBO champion Joseph Parker on December 23, 2023. In that contest, Wilder looked lightyears away from the loud, aggressive, one-punch knockout artist who craved to have a body on his record.

Now, the paying public wants to know if the once-vicious Wilder been defanged for good. Can The Bronze Bomber recapture his momentum following the loss to Parker? Can Anderson shine on his biggest stage to date? In either case, it will be exciting to find out in this classic match of the heavy-handed vet versus the rising young lion.
