Liam Williams to face Alantez Fox In a WBO Middleweight Title Eliminator!
MTK Global has announced that former super welterweight world title challenger Liam Williams (21-2-1, 16 KO’s) will clash with Alantez Fox (26-2-2, 12 KO’s) December 21 at the Copper Box Arena in London, England.
What’s at stake is the WBO World #1 Middleweight slot with the winner to get a shot at champion Demetrius Andrade in 2020.
If Fox happens to defeat Williams, an Andrade bout would be a rematch of their October 2017 bout in which the WBO champ cruised to a unanimous decision victory.
Following the announcement, Williams would express excitement over the opportunity as he is now one step closer to another world title shot.
“It is a decider for the WBO title so it is exciting stuff. I feel like I have been knocking on the door for a little while and I am just so happy to get this opportunity.
I know he is very, very big at about 6ft 5, also thin and rangy. He is what he is and that is good. When push comes to shove though he is going to get smashed the same as the rest of them.”
Both men have already started barking at each other via social media, with both fighters promising fireworks.
Williams – Fox will air live on BT Sports in the UK and on ESPN+ streaming service in the United States. Here’s hoping the fight lives up to the trash-talk.
