Julian Williams tabs Errol Spence to become the new unified champion at welterweight!
Unified junior middleweight champion Julian “J-Rock” Williams gave insight on the upcoming Errol Spence vs Shawn Porter welterweight unification.
In an interview conducted by fighthype.com, Williams was asked his thoughts on the fight, as well as who he thought would win.
“[…] If I had to bet my own personal money I would bet on Errol. I think he has the physical strength to deal with the bull rushes of Shawn, who’s also physically strong. I fought Errol in the amateurs and boxed Shawn in the gym a few times and both of them are physically strong.
“But I think Errol can deal with the physical strength of Shawn Porter. It’s going to be a good fight though because Shawn’s a good fighter. If you’re physically strong, you can give him problems just like Ugas did because Ugas is physically strong.
“I think if you’re not physically strong, he’s going to run over you. If you are, you can give him some trouble.”
What better insight than from a fighter who’s been in the ring with both men. The consensus heading into this fight is that while Porter is a good physically strong fighter, Errol is more well-rounded and just as physically strong, if not stronger.
J-Rock is an interested spectator as he and his trainer Stephen “Breadman” Edwards have recently called for a fight with Spence, who could be in moving up in weight after he handles his business at welterweight.
September 28 can’t get here fast enough!
