Can Xu returns to make his second title defense!

3kingsboxing has learned WBA “regular” featherweight champion Can Xu (17-2, 3KO) will be making his second title defense against undefeated contender Manny Robles III (18-0, 8KO).

The 25 year-old champion from China, has been on a tremendous winning streak since an early career defeat back in 2014 . This run would also include an upset title victory over Jesus Rojas in January in a fight of year candidate.

The young champion would then make an impressive first title defense in his country knocking out challenger Shun Kubo. Looking to continue building momentum, he will be facing a very dangerous and hungry young challenger.

Robles is a 25 year-old California native and the son of renowned trainer Manny Robles Jr. Therefore, he’s no stranger to preparing with world champions and knowing what it takes to be a one is something he’s been groomed to understand.

However, this will still be the biggest challenge of his young career! The #4 rated contender won via split decision against sub-par competition in his last two bouts. If the plan is to walk away with the title then he needs to “bring it” on a whole other level.

The champion will have the edge in height, reach and championship level fight experience. While the challenger has a huge power edge and with the fight being in his backyard, the crowd will be a big factor.

This bout is scheduled to take place at the Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California on November 23rd.
