Yordan Targeting a November Clash with Jorge Linares
During an August 8 press conference in Indonesia, featherweight contender Daud Yordan expressed his plans for the future. He and his promotional team, Mahkota Promotions, discussed plans their plans to fight for a world title later this year.
3KingsBoxing has now learned who that opponent will be.
Raja Sapta Oktohari, owner of Mahkota Promotions has stated they are shooting to have Yordan (38-3, 26 KOs) face former WBA/WBC Lightweight champion Jorge Linares (44-4, 27 KOs) for the WBA “Regular” Lightweight title.
While not finalized, Oktohari has reached out to the representatives for Linares to discuss a potential bout. Through a press release, he expressed hopes a fight will happen “in early November”.
Oktohari also stated during that press release a Yordan–Linares bout would not take place in Indonesia. Yordan is currently ranked #2 by the WBA while Linares is #1.

He stated:
“In Spain, I will hone my skills to be even better because Jorge Linares is a good boxer. I will also bet competing with boxer who have the same type of Jorge Linares.”
