Yordenis Ugas and Abel Ramos Return For The WBA Regular Title!
WBA #1 ranked welterweight contender Yordenis “54 Milagros” Ugas (25-4, 12KOs) will return to ring on September 6 against Abel Ramos (26-3-2, 20KOs). The two will battle to claim the WBA “regular” welterweight title. This will be the secondary title to the crown super champion Manny Pacquiao currently holds.
Ugas is staying busy as he patiently awaits another world title opportunity. He is two fights removed from his controversial loss to then WBC champ Shawn Porter in 2019. He has destroyed the likes of a very respected undefeated fighter in Omar Figueroa and former promising prospect Mike Dallas Jr.
Ramos is a very dangerous and experienced guy who brings knockout power into this matchup.
He’s shared the ring with Jamal James, Ivan Baranchyk and Regis Prograis all whom he was defeated by. He last lost to interim WBA champion Jamal James by a one-round majority decision in 2018. He has since gone on an eight fight win streak; stopping seven fighters along the way!
This fight has the potential upset written all over it. Nevertheless, many expect Ugas to take this unscathed. If so, the Cuban is due for another big fight in the near future!
