Andrade gets title shot whether it’s against Saunders or not!
Recently, news broke that WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders failed a drug test; putting his highly anticipated fight with Andrade in doubt. He tested positive for the fat burning stimulant oxilofrine.
Today, however, the mandatory challenger Andrade took to twitter to say the following about the fight:
Despite @bjsaunders_ drug testing issues, I will ABSOLUTELY be fighting for the WBO Middleweight World Championship on October 20th @tdgarden either against Billy Joe or #2 ranked WBO contender Walter Kautondokwa 17-0, 16 ko’s. Get your tickets now!!
Kautondokwa is a 33 year-old undefeated fighter out of Namibia. He has power in both hands as only one of his seventeen opponents went the distance. He last fought in March, knocking out Billi Godoy in five rounds.
While there hasn’t been an official announcement regarding Saunders’ status, we expect one soon.
