Badou Jack Easily Defeats Samuel Crossed by Second Round Knockout!

Two-division champion Badou “The Ripper” (25-3-3, 15 KO’s) successfully kept his run towards a championship in the cruiserweight division alive under a new promotional company Probellum. He achieved this by toppling the relatively unknown Samuel “The Vanilla Gorilla” Crossed (11-2-, 7 KO’s) in two short rounds.

It was a huge opportunity for Crossed, who fought at a considerable disadvantage. Actually he was handicapped in virtually every department which is why most fans more than likely viewed him as just someone brought in to make Jack look good in his first fight under the Probellum banner. Equally important, he has never been in the ring with anyone close to the caliber of The Ripper.

Jack hopes this win will aid in a major push towards a championship as he is ranked #3 (WBA), #6 (WBC), and #8 (WBO). If so, he will soon get an opportunity to become a three-divisional champion.

NOTHING TO SEE HERE!

Following all the jaded expectations Jack made easy work of Crossed. The first round was an easily forgettable feel out round minus a terrible amount of significant action. Although, The Ripper did appear to bother the Vanilla Gorilla with belly shots in the closing moments of the period.

Things rapidly went from bad to worse in the second where Jack would drop Crossed three times en route to his stoppage win. Each of the first two knock downs came by way of stiff right hands. While the Vanilla Gorilla made it to his feet on both occasions, it really looked like he was purposely getting up at a snails pace hoping that referee Shahzad Janab would wave off the contest on the second knock down.

When the bout was allowed to continue Crossed dropped to all fours a third time when hit with an extremely weak left hand that barely passed for a punch. On this third trip to the canvas, referee Janab had seen enough and called an end to the action.

It will be interesting to see what prizefight Jack follows this easy night in the office up with.
