Rocha Answers Arnold Barboza’s Call-out After Sims UD Win!

In latest at bat, newly established welterweight fighter Arnold Barboza Jr. (33-1, 11 KO’s) bounced back into the win column in style by defeating the talented Kenneth “Bossman” Sims Jr. (22-4-1, 8 KO’s) by way of unanimous decision. The outing was an impressive turnaround from Barboza’s May 2, 2025 loss to Teofimo Lopez.

During his post-fight interview, Barboza would call out about half the division including Ryan Garcia, Devin Haney, Lewis Crocker, Rolando Romero and even Keyshawn Davis. Yet, Alexis Rocha, who competed and won in style earlier in the evening, was on-hand and in the ring. Once confronted with Rocha, Barboza happily accepted to fight him next.

Of all the names that Barboza called out, it would appear that Rocha would be the most realistic and amongst the easiest matches to make. However, with boxing being the shifting sand sport that it is, we will have to wait and see if Barboza and Rocha actually get a contract for each other signed and enforced. Until then, Team Barboza is in much better bargaining position with this solid win over Sims.
