Arum eyes big fight for Crawford!
One of boxing’s best, WBO welterweight champion Terence “Bud” Crawford’s (36-0, 27KOs) next fight could be a huge one! This is according to his promoter Bob Arum.
Speaking with iFL TV, Arum revealed that he hopes to have a major announcement regarding Crawford’s next fight soon.
“Well we’re looking for a major Terence Crawford fight in November. Everybody will have to be patient, but hopefully within the next ten days we can announce what we have. I’m very, very optimistic that Terence will be fighting in November.”
Fans all over have been craving to see Crawford in against one of the upper echelon welterweights in the division. So, Bob Arum saying this will have everyone guessing and arguing who it could be. Names like Errol Spence (26-0, 21KOs) , Shawn Porter (30-3-1, 17KOs) , Danny Garcia (36-2, 21KOs) and Keith Thurman (29-1-1, 22KOs) would all suffice as huge names for the Nebraska native. However, how realistic is it that one of those four fighters actually will be his next opponent?
Considering the limitations on fans being able to attend fights the, sponsors not yet committing their money to events, and the aforementioned fighters wanting their fair share of the profit, the term “huge” could have been overstated. However, this is boxing and surprises happen all the time. We’ll just have to wait and see what comes of the possible announcement.
