Derek Chisora vs Carlos Takam: The End of the Road?

Takam vs Chisora could this be the end for both?

On the undercard of Whyte/Parker, there is a fight that could be the end of the road for both combatants.

Derek Chisora (28-8, 20 KOs) will face Carlos Takam (35-4-1, 27 KOs) for the vacant WBA International Heavyweight title.

Chisora, at 34 years-old, is a former WBA/WBO International heavyweight champion. He has literally been in the ring with every name in the division you can think of.

Even with eight losses, he still finds a way to remain relevant within the division. He won his last fight by knockout, which proves you can’t necessarily count him out.

Takam, a 37 year-old former IBF Intercontinental heavyweight champion, also has been around the block in the division. His recent loss to Anthony Joshua showed that he still has the ability to compete with the best.

Both men are hoping a victory gets them a potential title opportunity down the line.

This may be the last chance for either fighter in hopes of continuing their career. A loss for either fighter has a high possibility of rendering that fighter to gate-keeper status.

Let’s show our appreciation for these two gladiators who have given so much to the sport.

Sky Sport Box Office will broadcast the event at the O2 arena July 28.
