Diego Pacheco Stops Jesus Palomares in Six!

Undefeated super middleweight prospects Diego Pacheco (11-0, 8ko) and “Mazo” Jesus Moroyoqui Palomares (7-0-1, 4ko) will fight to determine which fighter’s career moves forward and whose will go to the back of the bus!

Palomares is relatively unknown. That is normal considering he never fought outside of Mexico. However, he is taking on the third undefeated opponent in a row. He has a good opportunity to step out of the shadows and announce himself to the boxing world.

Pacheco is a 20 year-old fighter that has caught the attention of the boxing community. He is viewed as the future of the super middleweight division. Standing 6 feet-4 inches tall with a reach advantage of 79 inches makes him tough to beat on paper. Furthermore, he has the boxing skills to back it up. British promoter Eddie Hearn saw the potential and immediately signed him to his Matchroom Boxing stable in 2018.

USING THE JAB MADE IT AN EASY FIGHT

Pacheco started this fight like someone with his height and reach advantage should do by using the jab. It was beautiful to see a prospect fighting tall and building everything off the jab. He repeatedly split the high guard of his opponent while following up with the straight right hand and left hook.

Mazo was having a hard time getting on the inside, He kept launching haymakers that had no chance of landing. Pacheco turned up the heat in round five by landing a hard jab, overhand right combination on the temple that put his opponent in retreat. He continued the attack with a brutal right uppercut that knocked Mazo’s mouthpiece out! Before the round ended, the young prospect landed another debilitating right uppercut.

It was becoming clear this fight was on the verge of being stopped. Pacheco came out in the sixth round looking to end the fight after landing a hard left hook that sent his opponent to the ropes. The young prospect then landed another right uppercut that knocked the mouthpiece out again! This indicated the end of the this fight s the referee immediately stepped in.

Pacheco looked impressive en route to victory behind showing extreme poise and discipline behind his jab.
