Eduardo Nunez Wins Diaz Decision & Seeks Emanuel Navarrete
In his latest tour of duty, IBF super featherweight champion Eduardo “Sugar” Nunez (29-1, 27 KO’s) defeated Christopher “Pitufo” Diaz by way of unanimous decision. From the opening round, the heavy-handed champion and his opponent put on one entertaining slugfest that left the audience delighted. Eduardo Nunez now has his sights set on a unification with WBO super featherweight champion Emanuel Navarrete.
With this invigorating performance behind him, it is now time to look forward to the next challenge. In this instance, the next desired foe is anything but a mystery. When questioned about who he wanted to next test his might against, Sugar quickly threw out the name of Navarrete.
To make the moment a bit better, the WBO champ was on hand for the match and jumped in the ring afterwards. After doing so, Navarrete let it be known that he also would greatly enjoy slipping through the ropes to face Nunez in his next prizefight. So, with everyone being injury-free and seemingly in agreement, let’s hope we get an official announcement to this engaging unification match soon!
“It’d be a pleasure to fight Sugar Nunez and more than anything, Mexico would win that fight!” ~ Emanuel Navarrete
