On Saturday, June 27, Jaron “Boots” Ennis must bring his A-game and win in dominating fashion against unified 154-pound champion Xander Zayas. The Philadelphia challenger can’t win a close contest; otherwise, several fans and pundits will question his future in the division.
When Top Rank signed with DAZN, it was obvious Zayas was going to fight Ennis, especially when the fight with Vergil Ortiz fell apart.
