Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder III postponed due to coronavirus pandemic!
A rubber match between current WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury (30-0-1, 23KOs) and former unbeaten WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (42-1-1, 41KOs) has been postponed due to the current coronavirus pandemic that’s sweeping across the United States.
Initially set for July 18, that now will not happen. Fury dominated Wilder back on February 22 via seventh-round stoppage victory. He is obligated to uphold the rematch clause that Wilder exercised. While there’s no new set date, Fury’s co-promoter Bob Arum is targeting the month of October.
This could be beneficial for Wilder, as it would give him more time to recover and implement things into his toolbox that would allow him to recapture his coveted green belt, which he held for five years.
3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
