Gary Antuanne Russell Wants Adrien Broner!

Gary Antuanne Russell (14-0, 14ko) stepped his game up to another level against Puerto Rican fighter Jovanie “El Lobito Santiago (14-2-1, 10ko). Shortly after the impressive knockout victory, Russell immediately called out four-divisional champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner!

The youngest of the deep-rooted Russell boxing clan showed up and showed out. Santiago can claim a small moral victory being the first man to go beyond the fourth round. However, his corner stopped the bleeding after the sixth as the Puerto Rican fighter had taken too much punishment.

In an interview with 3kingsboxing affiliate Ricardo Mohamed of Brawler Sports media, Russell made it clear that once the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic ends, he was going to be looking to pick things up and remain flawless.

Santiago is coming off the first career loss as a victim of boxing politics against Broner back on February 20. The bout served as a long awaited return for the four-division champion. However, many boxing enthusiasts believe the fight should have been a draw or Santiago should have been given the nod. Regardless, no one was pleased with the extremely wide scorecards.

Russell was well aware of the significant meaning behind his knockout victory and wasted little time in the post-fight interview calling out Broner for a fight.

“Santiago is a class A opponent. A lot of people thought and believed he beat Adrien Broner. So I am looking for Adrien Broner.”

When asked if Broner is the fight he wants next? Without hesitation, he doubled down.

“OF COURSE!”

This young man is full of confidence! Plus, the self-proclaimed “Can-Man” has a reputation of fighting anyone. Let’s see if the wish of the youngest Russell fighter gets granted.
