Devin Haney Wants Revenge On Ryan Garcia In The Ring
WBC junior welterweight champion in recess Devin “The Dream” Haney (31-0, 15 KO’s) has officially slid back into boxing’s limelight. Lately, Haney has garnered a great deal of attention for showing up in the UK to negotiate his next business moves with Chairman Turki Alalshikh. Haney also would love a contract to pursue justice against his bitter rival “King Ry” Ryan Garcia (24-1, 20 KO’s). This is not a new story however.
Yet, the only caveat that Haney presented is that Garcia must take up stringent drug testing. Up to this point however, King Ry has refused to do so, citing various reasons for his rationale. Considering his situation, it is a head-scratcher that Garcia has made zero efforts to demonstrate he’s a clean fighter. So it will be interesting to see if a massive Alalshikh payday can persuade Garcia to play ball.
“My main thing, as me being a fighter, I want get-back in the ring! I want to fight him again and I want to win. That’s how I want justice to be done.”
WHAT’S ON THE HORIZON?
Since his duel with King Ry, there have been a ton of questions about what Haney’s mental and physical realities are these days. Clearly, The Dream is back training. Along these lines, he has posted several videos of various technical drills and hitting the heavy bag. Within these videos, it’s also been revealed that Haney has added coach Nate Jones to his roster.
Assuming that King Ry sticks to his rebellious ways, then Haney will be forced to look elsewhere. There have been rumors that perhaps The Dream would face boxing wild card and multi-divisional champion Adrien “The Problem” Broner. While this would make for an interesting clash of styles, Haney personally shut down any notion that this match was currently being negotiated. So, for the time being, we all will just have to wait and see what is on the menu next for Devin “The Dream” Haney.
