Devin Haney wants receipts from Teofimo Lopez

Social media is busier than ever now that boxing has returned. Now, right on cue, everyone is picking up right where they left off. Rivalries and verbal jabs will be extra spicy considering the possibility that with boxing back, these fights can happen.

However, some must take place in the ring. This applies to the long social media debate between IBF lightweight champion Teofimo “El Brooklyn” Lopez (15-0, 12ko) and divisional adversary WBC champion Devin “The Dream” Haney (24-0, 15ko).

Furthermore, the IBF champion threw some gas on the flames, claiming that his team was trying to make a fight with his divisional arch-rival. Things picked up when both the WBC champion and British promoter Eddie Hearn immediately answered back puzzled, stating they haven’t heard anything from team Lopez about a fight.

CALL HIM PINOCCHIO!

The Dream took to social media to call Lopez a liar. In an interview with iFL TV, the champ doubled down on those claims and added a new nickname for the IBF champion.

“He got 24 hours and if not, then we are going to know that he’s lying and if not, we can give him the name Pinocchio.”

Now that team Lopez is back in the hunt for a fight with unified champion Vasyl “Hi-Tech” Lomachenko (14-0, 10ko), the WBC champion was asked about his thoughts on that fight.

“I’ll fight Teofimo or Loma, I’ll fight the winner. It doesn’t make no difference to me.”

The Dream would also keep it real about the chances his rival has of winning the fight with the unified champion.

“Of course I give him a chance cause this is boxing. I’m real, anything can happen in the sport of boxing. Is it going to be tough for him to win? Yes!”

“Everyone knows that, but can he win? Of course, it’s boxing. Anything can happen, but I do see Loma beating him.”
