Tony Harrison on Jermell Charlo: No More Respect!
After a very contentious press conference to announce their upcoming rematch, WBC junior middleweight champion Tony Harrison (28-2, 21 KO’s) declared in an interview with Radio Raheem there is no longer any respect for Jermell Charlo (32-1, 16 KO’s).
The two men are set to finally meet on December 21 in California in a PBC on Fox telecast. Their rematch will take place a year and one day shy of their initial stanza, which took place on December 22, 2018.
It’s no secret that a big majority of boxing fans and pundits feel that Harrison was fortunate to get the nod. Many people watching their first bout thought it was a clear victory for younger Charlo twin. However, the judges clearly felt different as all three scored it in favor of Harrison.
The two men traded very disrespectful words with Harrison labeling Charlo “Soft”, and a “Pussy”.
NO MORE RESPECT
Harrison, a skillful fighter with only two defeats in his career, heads into the rematch as the underdog. This fact, along with perceived disrespect from Charlo regarding his win, leaves him with a major chip on his shoulder. It has also drained Harrison of any respect towards his adversary.
“I was born with a chip on my shoulder. It didn’t take that to have a chip on my shoulder. I walk around with a chip on my shoulder everyday.
“It’s been a lot of disrespectful things on his side, and that’s why I walk out here I don’t show no love to a motherfucker. They earn that.
“The disrespect from him will always be. Once the disrespect start, it’s no cleaning that up for me. It’s going to always be disrespect. It can never be respect! it will never be respect from my side no more.
“I was super fucking respectful from the first fight, to the presser to everything. It’s no more respect, it’s fuck him!”
The gloves have clearly come off as Harrison has crossed a point of no return with Charlo.
Stay tuned for what should be an explosive rematch December 21!
