Eddie Hearn eyeing a Liam Smith vs Jermell Charlo Match-up!
Eddie Hearn is eyeing a big fight for former WBO junior middleweight champion Liam Smith with another former champion in the division!
Smith defeated Sam Eggington via fifth round stoppage March 30. He could now be in line for a big fight sometime in 2019. Hearn states he would love for that big fight to be against Jermell Charlo.
While that fight would have some intrigue considering both men are former world champions, that fight will likely have to wait. Charlo is seemingly tied up for a summer rematch with Tony Harrison from their December fight that ended in controversy. Most spectators believe Charlo was robbed of victory in that fight and he’s been itching to prove this.
Also, Smith is nowhere to be found within the WBC rankings.
For now, this is more than likely a pipe dream from Hearn. 3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor this story as there is a small chance something could happen!
