Inoue vs Servania: A Grueling Three Round Exhibition

Inoue keeps himself warm ahead of the WBSS first round bout against Payano

3KingsBoxing has learned that Japanese boxing superstar Naoya Inoue took part in a special three round exhibition featherweight contender Genesis Servania this past Sunday at the Sangyo Hall in Kanazawa Japan.

Both Inoue (16-0, 14KO) and Servania (31-1, 14KO) have sparred each other in the past. However, this particular sparring session was fast paced and intense.

Little was held back by either man as both fighters looked sharp. Japanese fans were thrilled in witnessing Inoue take part in a public sparring session against a high quality fighter.

Servania is ranked 10th by the WBC and 3rd by the WBA and IBF at featherweight.

He gave WBO champion Oscar Valdez all he could handle during an unsuccessful title try in September of 2017.

In an interview after the sparring session, Inoue revealed his bout against Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9KO) in the upcoming WBSS Bantamweight tournament would take place in October.

While no specific date was announced, this gives validation to president of Warriors Boxing, Leon Margules telling the TASS Russian News Agency that WBA Super Lightweight champion Kiryl Relikh’s upcoming title defense against Eduard Troyanovsky will take place on October 7 on the undercard of Inoue – Payano.

We will keep you informed on further developments and the official date for the Inoue/Payano bout
