Chantelle Cameron In Line for Katie Taylor After Camara Win
In her latest at bat, interim WBC super lightweight champion Chantelle “Il Capo” Cameron (21-1, 8 KO’s) defeated Jessica Camara (14-5-1, 3 KO’s) by unanimous decision. With the win, Cameron extended her current win streak to three since suffering her sole professional loss to unified super lightweight champion Katie Taylor back on November 25, 2023.
This bout with Camara served as support for a main event featuring Amanda Serrano versus her arch nemesis, Katie Taylor. Naturally, one would assume that Il Capo is rooting for Taylor to win. Not that she has any particular malice toward Serrano. But, who doesn’t want their chance to get their very slice of sweet revenge? And in this case, the released pent-up malice comes with a paycheck. That’s easy math.
When penning this article, the outcome of Taylor versus Serrano had yet to be determined. So, just like Cameron, we will all have to wait with bated breath to see who comes out in the dogged Taylor vs Serrano trilogy. Luckily, if going by past outcomes, the Irish tornado has come out on top in both previous occasions. Clearly, Il Capo is hoping that a third time remains a charm.
