Jahi Tucker Looks Impressive In Victory Over Santiago Fernandez
In a battle of middleweight prospects, Jahi Tucker (12-1-1, 5KO) easily defeated Santiago Fernandez (8-2-1, 4KO) by unanimous decision.
Since suffering his first defeat in July 2023, Tucker has shown improvement and uses the jab to control the pace of the fights.
This fight was no different as the New Yorker worked the jab like a painter creating a masterpiece. In addition, his defense, footwork, and counter-punching kept him in control of the entire fight.
Fernandez had moments landing some solid shots, but they were far and few in-between. Moreover, he started getting hit with uppercuts and repeated shots to the body.
It was like watching a sparring session. Tucker could be heard conversing with his father while hitting Fernandez with hard shots.
In the final rounds, Tucker’s offense was too much for the Argentinian, who was tough as nails. He even landed an eye-raising right hand that momentarily rocked Fernandez.
It came as no surprise that all three judges saw it 80-72 for Tucker. This was a good showing by the young man, whose improved skill set was worth watching.
