Jermall Charlo set to be added to undercard
3KingsBoxing.com has learned that the Jermall Charlo (26-0, 20 KOs) and Hugo Centeno (26-1, 14 KOs) fight is likely to land on the undercard of the Deontay Wilder/Luis Ortiz on March 3rd at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Charlo, who is a former junior middleweight champion, is coming off of fourth round TKO of Jorge Sebastian Heiland back in July. The fight was his first at the 160lb middleweight limit.
The Heiland bout was ordered by the WBC to be for the mandatory spot to champion Gennady Golovkin’s title. The have since ordered this fight to be for the interim belt with Golovkin tied up in a rematch with Canelo Alvarez.
Centeno has won two in a row since suffering his lone defeat to Maciej Sulecki back in June of 2016. His most recent win came against Immanuwel Aleem when stopped him in the third round back in August.
