John Fury Tells Dillian Whyte to Sign the Contract!
Ever since Frank Warren won the purse bid for the Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte fight on January 28, the mandatory challenger has been extremely quiet. The WBC champ, Tyson Fury (31-0-1, 22KOs), however, has been extremely vocal on social media, taunting his rival. Strangely enough, the lack of a response from Whyte has made many people wonder if the fight is at risk of not happening.
Top Rank revealed that a target date of April 23 was the plan for the fight to take place. But as the month of February comes to a close, you have to wonder if the fight will be pushed back until May. A fight of this magnitude needs proper promotion, and both fighters need at least ten weeks to properly train.
It’s clear that patience is wearing thin in the Fury camp, in particular with the father of the WBC champ, John Fury. As is, he had a little message for Whyte.
“I’m not sure what mind games you’re playing, but they don’t work with us. But you’re running out of time, pal, and you’re going to make yourself look really stupid. Get the contract signed, fight, get your beating. “
It’s no secret that Team Fury is supremely confident of victory against Whyte, so this banter from John Fury is no surprise. Also worth pointing out is that Whyte’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, stated that his fighter is indeed onboard with the fight. So that just leaves all parties involved to figure out the date of the fight.
