Julian “J-Rock” WIlliams Returns in September

Julian Williams and Takeshi Inoue

Julian “J Rock” Williams one step closer to another title shot.

Earlier this year the IBF ordered an elimination bout between #1 ranked Julian Williams and #2 ranked Takeshi Inoue.

The winner will be put in a position to be the mandatory challenger for Jarrett Hurd. Both sides were able to reach an agreement despite the ordering of a purse bid.

Julian William (25-1-1-1 NC, 15KO), can put himself in position to challenge for the IBF title again. The first time around he lost by fifth round knockout to then-champion Jermall Charlo.

The 28 year-old Philadelphia fighter has compiled a three-fight win streak since. His last fight was a victory over Nathaniel Gallimore by majority decision.

Inoue (13-0-1 7KO), is the WBO Asia Pacific and OPBF junior middleweight champion. He will be making his U.S. debut and will surely look to spoil the Philly fighters plans. Contrary to popular belief, he is not related to pound for pound fighter Naoya Inoue.

This will be a major step-up fight for Inoue as Williams will have the experience and the American fans on his side.
