Josh Kelly vs Ray Robinson added to Joshua-Ruiz under-card!
Rising welterweight prospect Josh Kelly will take another step up in competition when he faces veteran contender Ray Robinson. The fight will take place on the under-card of Anthony Joshua vs Andy Ruiz.
This will be Kelly’s (9-0, 6KOs) American debut. The talented fighter possesses all the attributes inside the ring to become a champion. Also, he has the personality and charisma outside of the ring to become a worldwide star.
Robinson will pose a stern test for the young prospect, who has already fought a former world champion in Carlos Molina. He only has three losses in his career, afforded by Brad Solomon, Shawn Porter and Yordenis Ugas; two of which are top tier fighters in the division.
In addition, Robinson gave undefeated WBO #1 contender Egidijus Kavaliauskas all he could handle in March as the two fought to a draw.
This will be Kelly’s second fight of 2019. He defeated Przemyslaw Runowski in April via a unanimous decision. He had originally been set to face David Avanesyan in April and actually called for the fight in place of Robinson after Avanesyan scored a major upset in Spain over top contender Kerman Lejarraga.
Nevertheless, this will still be a great step-up fight for the popular British prospect.
