Liam Williams claims WBO middleweight champion Demetrius Andrade will vacate his title!
WBO middleweight mandatory challenger Liam “The Machine” Williams (23-2-1, 18KOs) is tired of playing games with WBO middleweight champion Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade (29-0, 18KOs). Williams has been the mandatory since December of 2019 after stopping Alantez “SlyAza” Fox (27-2-1, 12KOs) in five rounds in their WBO title eliminator. The top contender from the UK does not believe he will get to face the unbeaten two-division world champion. The reason being is that he feels Andrade will soon vacate his title.

So far, there has been no indication of that being a possibility. Andrade has continued to call for fights with WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders, former middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez and IBF middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.
The frustration is understandable on the behalf of Williams, as he has been more than patient. Unfortunately, however, the COVID-19 pandemic halted boxing for months which further delayed a title shot against Andrade. The WBO champion could possibly face Golovkin in a unification bout. This could further delay the 28-year-old’s shot at world title glory.
The pressure will soon shift to Andrade who will either have fight Williams or vacate. Again, a possible unification bout would overrule that fight. If Andrade cannot get the big names at 160 or 168, a fight with Williams is a very good one considering how well he has looked his last few fights.
