Teofimo Lopez
Since fracturing his right hand in July, Lopez has remained idle and away from the spotlight. The painful injury occurred in the first round when he struck his opponent William Silva on top of the head. However, the brass Brooklyn native impressively went on to demolish his foe in the sixth round.
The twenty one-year-old has crafted his skill set since his dominant days in the amateurs. Winning a total of one hundred fifty bouts and only losing twenty has prepared him for the professional rankings.
Nonetheless, Lopez is an exciting fighter with a natural knack for showmanship.
Advice to Lopez:
Take it slow and test your hand.
Mason Menard
The battle-tested veteran has seen his fair share of ups and downs in the brutal sport. He enters Saturday’s bout with the edge in professional experience and will look to spoil Lopez’s plans.
In his last bout, Menard clashed with journeymen Ronald Rivas (5-6-2, 3 KOs). The fight went as many expected, with Menard out-boxing the Guatemalan challenger throughout the contest.
Advice to Menard:
Put pressure on Lopez and force him to fight when he doesn’t want to.
Outcome:
Lopez wins by knockout.
