Teofimo Lopez shines in Frisco, TX
One of the hottest prospects in the sport, Teofimo Lopez did not disappoint again as he systematically destroyed Diego Magdaleno.
From the opening bell, Lopez proved to be too much for his opponent. The hand-speed, punching power and ring IQ would be on a completely different level.
Magdaleno made attempts to stay competitive behind his jab, however, the favorite would employ the “catch and counter” technique perfectly. The fight simply became one in which the 32 year-old would take heavy punishment.
However, Magdaleno did not taste the canvas at times where it seemed he would. That is until round six where a vicious left hook to finish a combination dropped Magdaleno face-first. Surely, this would be the end.
Nope! The underdog would rise to beat the count and be saved by the bell. However, being saved would only last for one minute!
Opening the seventh round, Lopez unloaded on his opponent. Magdaleno would attempt to motivate himself by taunting after taking huge shots. The beating was so brutal that many fans were screaming the fight needed to be stopped.
Finally, a double-left hook combination concussed Magdaleno as he fell to the canvas for the final time.
In the post fight interview, Lopez stated he wants to be a champion in 2019. We at 3kingsboxing.com believe it is time for the 21 year-old to share the ring with some of the best at lightweight!
