WBC International Title Remains vacant
The WBC international heavyweight title fight between veteranAmir “Hard Core” Mansour (23-2-1, 16 KOs) and undefeated Sergey Kuzmin (11-0-1, 8 KOs) ended in a three round technical drawon Mondaynight at the famous Luzhniki Arena in Moscow.
It was an entertaining bout but was cut short when both fighters suffered nasty cuts in a violent third round head clash.After examining both cuts, ringside physician Vladimir Kurdhev ruled it off almost immediately.
Mansour was cut over the right eye and Kuzmin was cut on the forehead.The time of the halt was2:45. The result was announced as a technical draw thus leaving the title vacant.
The Russian was originally scheduled to fight former WBA “regular” champion Lucas Browne. Browne has been targeted by Parker as a potential backup opponent, if the WBO champion is unable to close the deal for a unification with IBF, WBA, IBO champion Anthony Joshua in the first quarter of next year. Browne has also been mentioned for a possible date with UK heavyweight Dillian Whyte as well
