Julio Cesar Martinez Gets Win Over Carmona On Estrada v Gonzalez 3 Undercard

JULIO CESAR MARTINEZ GETS A GIFT AGAINST SAMUEL CARMONA

Julio Cesar Martinez (19-2, 14KO) struggled early in the fight before picking up the pressure for the win against Samuel Carmona. The Spanish boxer had a game plan early as he was working behind the jab and moving well, frustrating Martinez. The WBC flyweight champion, Martinez, was able to turn the fight around after Carmona suffered a hand injury with hard hooks to the body and head. Even though fighting with one hand, the challenger was able to make it a close fight. Martinez was landing more punches in the championship rounds on a stationary Carmona. One judge scored it 114-114, a draw. As the other two had it 117-111, 116-112 for Martinez. 3Kings Boxing agrees with the first scorecard. IBF champion Sunny Edwards is going to turn up the heat on requesting a unification.

CRISTOFER ROSALES EXPERIENCE WAS TOO MUCH FOR VELAZQUEZ

Former WBC flyweight champion Cristofer Rosales’ (35-6, 21KO) experience and ring IQ prevailed against the top-rated Joselito Velazquez. This fight was action-packed from the word go. Velazquez fought at a ferocious pace, landing the harder, more significant punches. Yet, Rosales came alive in the second half of the contest, landing uppercuts with ease followed by hard shots to the pit of his opponent’s stomach. They both gave it their all until the final bell and the judges scored it 97-93 in favor of Rosales. With this win in the books, he will wait to see if fellow Nicaraguan Roman Gonzalez is victorious in the trilogy against rival Juan Francisco Estrada.

AUSTIN WILLIAMS BLOODIED UP SIMON MADSEN

Nickednamed Ammo, Austin Williams (13-0, 9KO) put on a good boxing display by using the jab to maintain control of the bout. He bloodied the face of Simon Madsen with sharp combination punches. Furthermore, he attacked the body regularly throughout the fight. Madsen got deducted a point in round nine for hitting with the elbow. This fueled the hard-hitting middleweight as he punished with hard hooks and uppercuts until the final bell. All three judges had it 99-90 in favor of Williams, giving Madsen his first career defeat. 3Kings Boxing had it a shutout at 100-89.

MARC CASTRO PITCHED A SHUTOUT AGAINST MAICKOL LOPEZ

Marc Castro (9-0, 6KO) is a hot prospect that is living up to the billing so far. He showed off those boxing skills against a tough Maickol Lopez that wouldn’t go away. Castro worked good behind the jab, controlling the distance throughout the contest. Furthermore, he attacked the body early, showing a good inside game as well. Despite scoring the knockdown in the seventh round, he went the distance and won a unanimous decision with all three judges scoring it 80-71. 3Kings Boxing is in agreement with the judge’s scorecards.
