Louie O’Doherty Secures Belt with Regan Glackin Stoppage!
In his latest tour of duty, lightweight fighter Louie O’Doherty (11-0, 3 KO’s) claimed the vacant BBB of C British lightweight title by tenth round TKO. O’Doherty pulled this off by forcing the corner of his opponent, Regan Glackin, to throw in the towel following a sound thumping. This marked the third victory of the year for O’Doherty.
Heading into this duel, O’Doherty had yet to break into the top 15 with any of the four major sanctioning bodies. Perhaps this win will help aid in this endeavor. Regardless of whether this happens or not, it will be interesting to see what the newly crowned champion will set out to do next.
To this point, O’Doherty has yet to fight outside of his native UK. Now that he has captured this belt perhaps, he will try his luck on the road. However, O’Doherty is likely to continue cutting his teeth in his own backyard until he gets a bit more experience under his belt. So, for the time being, we will just have to wait and see what is up the sleeve of Team O’Doherty.
