Tommy Oosthuizen calls out Kevin Lerena next
Previously reported by 3kingsboxing, Thomas Oosthuizen was looking to make a comeback and was successful defeating Thabiso Mchunu by majority decision.
This win was his first victory as a full-fledged cruiserweight and he’s ready to keep the ball rolling.
The 30 year-old South African fighter is now looking to make a major move by calling out fellow countryman and IBO cruiserweight champion Kevin Lerena.
Oosthuizen’s callout is very strategic. A victory over top #10 rated fighter is a big boost to his career. His win over Mchunu proved that his skill-set is still sharp despite the weight increase.
Lerena responded to the callout saying:
“If you want it, you can get it.”
INTERESTING FACTS
Lerena is still recovering from shoulder surgery and won’t fight again this year. He has only fought outside of his country twice and neither was in the U.S.
When/if this bout happens it would be between two good southpaw boxers.
