Osleys Iglesias Delivers Spectacular KO To Beat Evgeny Shvedenko
In a super middleweight showdown, Osleys Iglesias (11-0, 10KO) ran over veteran Evgeny Shvedenko (16-2-1, 7KO) in the first round.
The Cuban amateur standout worked the jab perfectly and followed it up with the right hook. His tall frame and slick athleticism were a problem for Shvedenko early.
Iglesias landed a lead right hook that momentarily stunned the Russian. He even attacked the body, which opened up Shvedenko for some hard uppercuts on the inside. The Russian tried to come forward looking to attack, but he was hit with a brutal right hook that short-circuited his entire body.
Shvedenko fell to the canvas like a rock and threw punches while lying on his back. The referee quickly called for the doctor into the ring to attend to the fighter.
Besides holding the fringe IBO title, Iglesias became the first to stop Shvedenko. The Cuban is on a five-fight knockout streak. In addition, his stoppage is a candidate for KO of the Year. With each passing performance, he continues to create some buzz around his name.
