Patrick Day Laid to Rest!

A day that his parents, family and friends I’m sure all dreaded has arrived.

Patrick Day (27) suffered a traumatic brain injury in a tenth-round knockout loss to Charles Conwell on October 12. He would die from the injury just four days later. As of October 26, he has finally been laid to rest.

His funeral, which was held in his hometown of Freeport, New York, was witnessed by some of Day’s family and close friends. Lou DiBella, who promoted the young boxer, was also in attendance.

Day compiled a record of 22-4-1, 6 KOs as a professional fighter. He was also a New York Golden Gloves champion in 2012. As an amateur, he would also win two championships and compile a record of 75-5, which would land him as the number one ranked fighter in the United States as a welterweight.

He would serve as an US Olympic alternate for the 2012 Olympic Games.

Day is survived by his mother, father and three Brothers.

3kingsboxing.com would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family of Patrick Day.

May he rest in peace.
