PBC reportedly now open to one-fight deal with Canelo Alvarez for Caleb Plant!
Things have been relatively quiet on the Saul “Canelo” Alvarez (56-1-2, 38KOs) v Caleb Plant (21-0, 12KOs) negotiations. Alvarez is coming off securing the WBO 168 pound title back in May after making former champion Billy Joe Saunders quit on his stool after eight rounds. Almost immediately, all attention was turned towards the only remaining fight in the super middleweight division that matters: Alvarez v Plant for all of the titles!
However, now that Alvarez is back in the gym getting ready for his September 18 return, people are wondering what’s the latest on the on who’ll be sharing the ring with him. Promoter Eddie Hearn has finally broken his silence regarding the latest happenings into the Alvarez-Plant negotiations.

Hearn, who loves to talk to the media, has come out and stated that PBC’s insistence on Alvarez agreeing to a a three-fight deal is the current holdup in the fight moving forward towards completion. However, contrary to those comments made by Hearn, ESPN reports that the boxing powerhouse is willing to accept a one-fight deal in order to make the fight both fighters and all fans want.
In the meantime, we all will just have to sit tight and wait on an official announcement regarding the status of Alvarez and Plant. Regardless of what happens, 3kingsboxing.com will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
