Caleb Plant Still Wants To Get his Hands on Jermall Charlo!
In a recent session going live, WBC middleweight champion Jermall “Hit Man” Charlo (33-0, 22 KO’s) tried to clear the air with former super middleweight champion Caleb “Sweethands” Plant (22-2, 13 KO’s). This was in reference to a fracas the two had a few months back. When all was said and done however, Plant has his face follicles tugged and Charlo his cheek swatted with a thumping open palm. Now, it appears that the only one who wants to tread a higher road is not Plant, but Jermall Charlo.
LOTS TO LOSE AND GAIN
Oddly enough, even though Plant is coming off a knockout loss to David Benavidez, his stock could arguably be higher than the undefeated champion. Over the past couple of years, Hit Man has not given his fanbase or the industry much to go on outside of inactivity and rather concerning social media posts. As a result of this, Charlo has become more a divisional afterthought than a dangerous champion.
In all actuality though, Plant versus Charlo is a great match-up with two name brand fighters that come with a juicy built-in backstory. Furthermore, even with all things considered, a win for either would stand as a substantial win and certainly be career-advancing. So it will be interesting to see if Charlo bites the bait and this fight is actually announced.
