Jack Rafferty Should Seek Ursu Following Essuman Destruction
British welterweight “Demolition Man” Jack Rafferty remains undefeated after demolishing Ekow “The Engine” Essuman. With this win, the Demolition Man should challenge Commonwealth/British titlist Constantin Ursu (15-0, 6KO) next.
Rafferty (27-0-1, 18KO) was clicking on all cylinders, landing blistering shots that kept The Engine off balance. In round three, the undefeated fighter cranked up the volume after Essuman suffered a cut over the eye.
After seeing their fighter take a tremendous beating, Essuman’s corner informed the referee that the fight was over at the end of the sixth round. Rafferty isn’t ranked by any of the sanctioning bodies despite winning a minor title.
He didn’t want to call out any names and isn’t on any world champion’s radar. But all that can change in a fight against Ursu for the domestic-level titles. Ursu has solid boxing skills and would have the height and reach advantage. However, Rafferty’s improved skills, power, and defense could be a problem for the British titlist.
This is a fight where the winner goes on to do big things in the welterweight division.
