Regis Prograis Wants To Fight Subriel Matias Sometime In The Future

WBC junior welterweight champion Regis “Rougarou” Prograis (28-1, 24KO) is already looking forward to a unification against newly crowned IBF champion Subriel “El Orgullo de Maternillo” Matias (19-1, 19KO).

On February 25, Matias captured the vacant title against IBF #1 ranked contender Jeremias Ponce in an early Fight Of The Year Candidate. This was an all-out war from the opening bell as fans stood on their feet applauding the production of both men. In the end, Matias was declared victorious after Ponce’s corner stopped the fight at the end of the fifth round.

PROGRAIS SENDS A MESSAGE TO MATIAS

The boxing community watched the fight in amazement and social media was buzzing. Prograis is considered one of the best in the division, so it’s no surprise he was paying close attention to the action. He wasted no time congratulating the IBF champion before dropping a hint at a future showdown.

This match-up would be a fight fans’ dream as both champions possess a come forward, take no prisoner mentality. Currently, Prograis is in negotiations for another high-profile fight with one-time title challenger Jack “El Gato” Catterall.

The junior welterweight division is loaded with fan-friendly fights as Prograis seems to be at the center of the fold.
